چکیده

A new echo canceller for discrete multitone (DMT) systems is presented where each used tone has its own per tone echo canceller (PT-EC) in addition to a per tone equalizer (PTEQ) [1, 2]. This enables us to optimize the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) for each tone separately by solving a Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) problem for each tone. Simulation results confirm improved performance over time domain echo cancellation.

Split SR-RLS for the Joint Initialization of the Per-Tone Equalizers and Per-Tone Echo Cancelers in DMT-Based Receivers

In asymmetric digital subscriber lines (ADSL), the available bandwidth is divided in subcarriers or tones which are assigned to the upstream and/or downstream transmission direction. To allow efficient bidirectional communication over one twisted pair, echo cancellation is required to separate upstream and downstream channels. In addition, intersymbol interference and intercarrier interference ...

Dmt-based Systems with per Tone Equalization 1 Dmt-based Systems with per Tone Equalization

An alternative receiver structure is presented for discrete multitone (DMT)-based systems. The usual structure consisting of a (real) time domain equalizer (TEQ) with a (complex) 1-taps frequency domain equalizer (FEQ) per tone, is modiied into a structure with a (complex) multitaps FEQ per tone. By solving an MMSE problem, the SNR is maximized for each individual tone. This always results in a...

Combination of per Tone Equalization and Windowing Indmt -

High speed Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) systems transmit signals that overlap in spectrum with the bands used for radio communications. AM broadcast stations and radio amateur transmitters result into electromagnetic interference impairing the DSL-receiver. For Discrete Multitone (DMT) systems, windowing, in combination with Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) cancellation has been proposed to ...

Rls-based Initialization for per Tone Equalizers in Dmt-receivers Rls-based Initialization for per Tone Equalizers in Dmt-receivers

Per tone equalization has been proposed in 6] 7] as an alternative to time domain equalization for DMT-based systems. In this paper, an iterative initialization scheme based on so-called RLS with inverse updating is presented for these equalizers. Simulation results show convergence with an acceptably small number of training symbols. Complexity calculations are made for per tone equalization a...

A Weighted Frequency-Domain Least Squares Approach for Equalization in Discrete Multitone Systems

In Discrete Multitone (DMT) transceivers, a time domain equalizer (TEQ) is used to shorten the effective channel impulse response such that a shorter cyclic prefix can be used. In this paper, we pose the TEQ design problem completely in the frequency domain by defining a frequency-domain weighted least squares cost function. The definition of the frequency-domain TEQ design criterion, we show, ...
